Head of the Egyptian parliament's foreign relations committee Karim Darwish discussed during a meeting on Thursday with a US parliamentary delegation Egypt's firm stance on the issue of the Nile water and relations between the Nile basin countries. In a press release, he said that Egypt cooperates with its sisterly Nile basin countries to achieve development in a way that does not harm the water rights of any country. Darwish described the US congressional delegation's visit to Egypt as very important and praised the level of strategic and economic relations with US states, especially the state of South Carolina. He stressed to the US delegation the importance of exchanging expertise between the US and Egypt, especially in the field of technical research. The meeting also tackled cooperation between the two sides in the fields of farming, agricultural technology, irrigation systems, animal products, technical education and food security. The South Carolina delegation members praised their meeting with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, hailing the president's wise policies and the outcome of his talks with US lawmakers.
