Second-half substitute Mohamed Farouk rescued Pyramids FC from a home defeat when he scored the equalizer in a 1-1 draw with Algeria's CE Belouizdad in the first leg of the Confederation Cup round of 32 on Saturday. The visitors went ahead in the 65th minute with a fine finish from former Ahly forward Amir Sayoud. As Pyramids FC pressed forward to bounce back, Sayoud exploited gaps at the back but wasted several clear-cut chances that could have left the hosts with a mountain to climb in the second leg. Farouk -- who replaced striker Ahmed Ali on the hour mark -- fired a rocketing ball from the edge of the area to grab the equalizer in the 74th minute. Pyramids FC will now have to score at least a goal in Algeria when they travel to face CE Belouizdad on 27 September to stand a chance of going through.
