Fugitive Boutros Ghali's fate on agenda of Egypt and Britain Foreign Ministers meeting Egypt Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr to dicuss fate of fugitive Youssef Boutros Ghali in next visit to Britain
According to a British diplomatic source, Egypt's Foreign Minister Mohamed Kamel Amr will be discussing with Britain the fate of fugitive ex-minister of Finance Yousef Boutros Ghali during his visit planned for next week. Daniel Drake, first secretary for economic and political affairs of the British embassy in Egypt, stated that since Egypt and Britain do not have an extradition agreement they have to discuss each case at a time adding that Ghali's case will be discussed in Amr's coming visit. The 59-year-old Boutros Ghali lives openly in London but is being sought by Egyptian authorities on criminal fraud charges for which has been sentenced 30 years in absentia. Ghali served under former President Hosni Mubarak.
