Noticeable rise in temperatures Monday won't last long: Forecasters

While several parts across Egypt is witnessing a noticeable rise in daytime temperatures on Monday, Forecasters say the mercury will drop again by some 7 degrees Celsius in the coming two days.
High temperatures are expected to reach 28 degrees in the capital Cairo and the Nile Delta on Monday, while lows are forecast at 14 C, the Egyptian Metrological Authority (EMA) says on its official website. The Mediterranean city of Alexandria and other cities on the coast are seeing highs of 25 and lows of 10 C on the day. Cities lying to the south are predicted to be warmer, with highs hovering around 29-23 C and lows of 10-13 C.
But Monday's relatively warm daytime weather will not last long. Temperatures are predicted to sharply fall in several parts of the country on Tuesday and Wednesday, recording highs of 21 and 19 C respectively in the capital Cairo and cities in the Nile Delta and lows of 13 C. Alexandria will see highs of 19 and 17 and lows of 12 and 10 on both days.
Rain is forecast in cities on the Mediterranean and some parts of the Nile Delta, Sinai and the south on Tuesday. The wet weather will continue across most of these areas and may extend to Cairo on Wednesday.
Temperatures in the northern part of Upper Egypt-which includes the governorates of Minya, Fayoum and Beni Suef-will fall from 29 C on Monday to 21 C on both days, with lows predicted to hit 8-10 C.
The southern part of Upper Egypt, where the ancient cities of Luxor and Aswan are located, will see highs fall from 32 to 27 then 23 by Wednesday. Lows there are expected at 10 C.
The Egyptian Meteorological Authority said “active winds in the north of the country are stirring sand and dust” in some parts including Cairo, leading to the to the disruption of maritime navigation on the Red and Mediterranean seas on Tuesday and the Mediterranean alone on Wednesday.
