Egypt will experience hot weather on Wednesday, the first day of spring, as part of a week of warm weather that has been ongoing since Sunday, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) said on Wednesday. According to the EMA, the hot weather will be experienced by citizens nationwide. The weather however will maintain cold chills at night. The Cairo and the Nile Delta governorates are forecast to experience highs of 32 degrees and lows of 18 degrees on Thursday. Weather in the cities along the Mediterranean coast, including Alexandria and Marsa Matrouh, will have highs of 28-29 degrees and lows of 12-12 degrees. Upper Egypt's Minya's temperature will receive an average high of 33 and a low of 13. The southern part of Upper Egypt, where the ancient cities of Luxor and Aswan are located, is set to experience highs of 37, 38 and steady lows of 19 and 22. During the spring, which begins this year on 21 March, Egypt is expected to see four to six sandstorms, which are typically marked by a sudden rise and then drop in temperatures of around 10-15 degrees, the head of EMA Ali Abdel-Al said in a statement last week.
