Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and the Head of the General Intelligence Service Abbas Kamel discussed boosting security, stability and development in the Red Sea area with their Sudanese counterparts in Khartoum on Thursday, the Egyptian foreign ministry said. According to statements by the foreign ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez, Shoukry and Kamel discussed the progress of the joint projects between Egypt and Sudan with their counterparts, including the joint railways project and the industrial Egyptian city project in southern Khartoum. The Egyptian and Sudanese parties also agreed that the two countries will continue to sign MoUs in different fields. The meeting also included a discussion about recent regional issues in the Arab world and in Africa. According to Hafez, the Egyptians expressed their appreciation for the Sudanese efforts to achieve peace in Africa in South Sudan and in the Central African Republic. Following the meeting, Shoukry held a meeting with Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir, delivering a message from President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi on bilateral relations. The visit of Shoukry and Kamel comes within the framework of regular coordination between the two countries at all levels.
