Egypt midfielder Mohamed Elneny is likely to leave Arsenal in the January transfer window after failing to hold down a regular place at the Premier League club, English reports said. The Sun and Mirror said that Arsenal were willing to offload Elneny for 15 million British pounds, with Leicester City mooted as possible suitors for the out-of-favour central midfielder. Elneny has fallen down the pecking order since the summer arrival of Spanish coach Unai Emery despite extending his contract until 2022 last March. He has not made any Premier League appearance so far this season, playing three matches in the Europa League and one game in the League Cup. The 26-year-old joined Arsenal from Swiss side Basel in January 2016. All in all, he made 76 appearances with the Gunners in all competitions, scoring two goals and providing seven assists. He won the FA Cup with Arsenal and the Community Shield last year. (For more sports news and updates, follow Ahram Online Sports on Twitter at @AO_Sports and on Facebook at AhramOnlineSports.)
