Egypt and Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny said it was a wonderful feeling to score his first goal at the Emirates after finding the net in the Gunners' 6-0 win over Belarusian outfit BATE Borisov in their final Europa League group game on Thursday. "Wonderful feeling first goal in the Emirates," Elneny wrote on his official Twitter account on Friday. "Great fans[.] You always give us motivation[.] Thanks for everything," he added. Elneny added the sixth against BATE in the 74th minute with a fine curling shot from inside the area. It was only his second goal since he joined Arsenal from Swiss side Basel in January 2016, having opened his account with a superb shot in a UEFA Champions League game away to Barcelona two months following his arrival. Arsenal topped their Europa League Group H with 13 points to advance to the round of 32, which marks the start of the competition's knockout stages. The 25-year-old Elneny helped Arsenal win the Community Shield in the season curtain-raiser following a 4-1 shootout win over Chelsea in August but has been mainly consigned to a bit-part role since. He only made 14 appearances in all competitions so far this season, including five in the Premier League. Elneny is a regular member of Egypt's squad and was instrumental in helping the Pharaohs qualify for their first World Cup finals since 1990.
