Egyptian squash player Karim Darwish claimed a 2-0 (11/9, 11/9) win over his fellow countryman Mohamed El-Shorbagy late Friday to reach the semi-final of the World Series. Darwish clinched his second victory at the tournament after defeating Azlan Iskandar 2-1 (11-4, 8-11, 11-4) on Thursday. In another game, four-time world champion Amr Shabana, also from Egypt, lost 2-0 (11/7, 11/4) to France's Gregory Gaultier who snatched Group Two's first position. On Saturday's semi-final, Darwish will play Gaultier, while Shabana will meet England's James Willstrop who had a shock 2-1 (6/11, 11/6, 9/11) defeat against Malaysia's Iskandar.
