Two key Ahly players, forward Walid Soliman and midfielder Hossam Ashour, boosted the Red Devils' Friday training after recovering from minor injuries that had seen them sidelined them from Thursday's session. The Cairo giants also announced that Tunisian left-back Ali Maaloul missed Friday's training, which is part of preparations for the trip to Botswana to face Township Rollers in the CAF Champions League group stage on 28 July. With the participation of Ashour and Soliman, Ahly have recovered from a poor start to their African Champions League group stage campaign with a convincing 3-0 victory over the Township Rollers on Tuesday in Alexandria, giving new coach Patrice Carteron a winning start. Ahly moved up to second place in Group A with four points, three behind leaders Esperance. Kampala and Township Rollers have three points each.
