The Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) issued a warning late on Sunday of sandstorms, thunder and rain in Cairo and other governorates on Monday. "The country will be affected tomorrow by unstable weather, with winds bearing sand and dust forecast in Cairo and northern Upper Egypt, as well as low clouds accompanied by rain fall," the statement read. The unstable weather is expected to last until Thursday 3 May, according to the EMA. The weather report also said that fog would affect driving on some areas, becoming more dense in Cairo and along the northern coasts. Egypt witnessed unstable weather last week, with heavy rain in all parts of the country. Several governorates witnessed flooding, causing damage to houses, shopping malls and university buildings, especially those located in the New Cairo area.
