Salah was the first Egyptian to win the Player of the Month award in Premier League history when he won last November. English Premier League pundits, captains and fans gave Salah their votes to claim the award ahead of six other nominees: Sergio Aguero, Mousa Dembele, Pascal Gross, Eden Hazard, Glenn Murray and Xherdan Shaqiri. Salah, who joined Liverpool last summer from Serie A side Roma, has taken the Premier League by storm this season, scoring 24 goals to take his overall tally to 32 goals in 39 appearances on all fronts. He shares the Premier League's top scorer position with Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane. Salah was instrumental in Egypt's successful campaign in the World Cup qualifiers, which saw the Pharaohs reach football's most prestigious tournament for the first time since 1990.
