Masry have shattered Tanta 6-3 on Thursday in the highest scoring game of the Egyptian Premier League this season to move to the third place with 30 points seven adrift of leaders Ismaily. Masry striker Ahmed Gomaa scored twice in quick fire succession on 10 and 13 minutes to give a thrilling start to the game. Mostafa Mohamed pulled one back for Tanta in the 21st minute but Masry midfielder Mohamed Koffi restored the two-goal lead two minutes later with a header from inside the box. Mohamed scored the second for Tanta in the 28th minute to keep his team in the game. After the interval, Masry hit three through Aristide Bance, 51, Abdel-Latif Grindo, 60, and Ahmed Shoukri, 61, to put the game beyond reach. Mohamed completed his hat-trick in the 81st minute, but that was not enough to get anything out of this game. "It was a large victory but we still have problems to solve. We conceded easy goals, the defenders must be more vigilant because we can't allow such goals if we face tougher opponents," Masry Football Director Ibrahim Hassan said after the game. "These mistakes put us under pressure during some periods of the game. We also should be more efficient upfront because we could have easily increased our tally," Ibrahim added.
