Making their African debut, Al-Maqassa lost 2-0 to Senegal's Generation Foot in the first leg away game in round 64 of the CAF Champions League.
Kicking off their maiden African campaign, Generation Foot's Amadou Dia Ndai and Sheikh Tidane Sabali scored on 55 and 75 minutes while Maqassa players were lost on the pitch and missing a number of its starters either due to injury or not being included in the preliminary African list.
The Fayoum-based side are also suffering in form, lying in 13th place in the league standings even though they were the runners-up last season.
Maqassa host the Senegalese champions on 21 February in the return leg.
Masri started their Confederation Cup campaign with a tremendous victory, crushing Zambia's Green Buffaloes 4-0 in the 64 round first leg at Port Said Stadium on Saturday.
It was Masri's first game in their stadium since the February 2012 disaster when 72 fans were killed in a soccer riot. The tragedy led to a ban on spectators, now in its sixth year, but on Saturday the stadium was full following security clearance.
Islam Salah and Aristide Bance scored two first half goals before Mohamed Koffi and Islam Eissa added the second two in the 52 and 81 minutes.
Salah headed his side in front in the 14th minute, before Burkina Faso striker Bance smashed home from inside the area on 38 minutes.
Although Masri coach Hossam Hassan was suspended in January for four games and fined LE20,000 for making a rude gesture during a game against Petrojet in the Egyptian Premier League, he led his team in their African contender using the trio of African players to secure an easy first leg victory which paves the way for a comfortable second leg game in Zambia next week.
Hassan would like to make up for the team's recent loss in the Super Cup to Ahly. The Red Devils snatched an extra-time victory following a terrible blunder from keeper Ahmed Massoud who was robbed by Moroccan striker Walid Azaro to score into an empty net.
The coastal city side played their first ever Super Cup after reaching the Egypt Cup final last summer when they lost 2-1 to Ahly in extra time after throwing away the lead.
