Zamalek will add on Olympic of Alexandria keeper in January window Goalkeeper coach Ahmed Soliman wants to secure the keeper position by landing Ibrahim Arafat
Zamalek are to sign Olympic goalkeeper of Alexandria, Ibrahim Arafat, during the winter transfer window this January. “Under the guidance of manager Hassan Shehata, Zamalek technical staff agreed to contract Arafat,” The White Castles keepers' coach, Ahmed Soliman, told Ahram Online. “The Olympic club wants 150,000 Egyptian pounds [$25,000] for releasing the player. Zamalek will pay LE100,000 ($17,000), while the player pays LE50,000 ($8,500),” Soliman added more details. The White net are currently guarded by experienced shoot-stopper, Abdel-Wahed El-Sayed and his substitutes, newly-joined Mahmoud Abdel-Rahim "Genesh" and junior Mustafa Abdel-Sattar. Shehata and his staff are rebuilding the team, which has missed the Egyptian Premier League championship since 2004. Zamalek are currently fifth in the league table, four points behind title holders and archrivals, Ahly, who are in the driving eat. They still have one game in hand; their league opener against Wadi Degla, which was postponed after the team suffered a road accident.
