The ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces (SCAF) finally issued a decree promulgating the long promised lustration law on Monday. The law would presumably strip members of ousted president Hosni Mubarak's now defunct National Democratic Party (NDP) of their political rights, including the right to run for political office. The law has been a long time consensual demand of the country's political forces, save for the so-called "remnants" of the NDP.
