Ahly's Ivorian striker Souleymane Coulibaly abruptly flew to England for “emergency family reasons” and is not in talks to join another club, his representative said on Friday. The 22-year-old has incurred the wrath of Ahly's management after travelling on Thursday without the consent of the Cairo giants, who said he would be heavily punished. Reports said he might be discussing an offer in England but Dan Chapman, the sports lawyer who represents him, vehemently denied that Coulibaly had any intention to leave. “Souleymane Coulibaly is not in England to discuss a transfer as has been reported! He's got a family emergency to deal with,” he said on his Twitter account. “We and our Egyptian colleagues are working to help and Souley fully respects his Al Ahly contract. Some of the speculation is not helpful.” Ahly, a club known for their tough disciplinary code, said they might go as far as putting him up for sale. Coulibaly has recently established himself as Ahly's main striker after joining from Scottish side Kilmarnock in January. With the Red Devils struggling for firepower upfront, Coulibaly seemed to boast the sort of finishing skills the club have long craved. He scored six goals in nine Egyptian Premier League appearances as Ahly went to within touching distance of winning their 10th title in 11 seasons. The club will be crowned champions with four games to spare if they avoid defeat against nearest challengers Maqassa on Monday.
