Egyptian champions Ahly officially announced on Tuesday the signing of Kilmarnock's striker Souleymane Coulibaly of Ivory Coast on a three-and-a-half-year contract. "Ahly signed Coulibaly on a three-year and a half contract," director Essam Serag was quoted as saying by the club's official website. "He arrived in Cairo Monday with his agent and he signed the contract today. He will start trainings with the team on Wednesday," he added without disclosing the financial details. Reports in recent hours claimed that the Cairo giants will sign the 22-year-old forward from the Scottish club in a £1million deal. British media reported earlier on Tuesday that the Reds beat archrivals Zamalek who only tabled £500,000. Coulibaly, who has played for Tottenham Hotspur, Grosseto, Bari, Pistoiese, Peterborough United and Newport County, scored 11 goals with his Scottish club this season. Coulibaly is Ahly's second winter signing after acquiring the services of Egyptian midfielder Amr Barakat from Belgium club Lierse last week. Ahly currently lead the Egyptian Premiere League table with 45 points after 17 matches.
