Egyptian club Ismaily president and board resign
The flammable situation in Ismaily continues as the president resigns after board members due to not being able to solve the club's financial crisis
Published in Ahram Online on 23 - 08 - 2011

Ismaily's new president Yehia El-Komy has stunned the club by resigning from his post Tuesday afternoon in protest at the current “wrong” circumstances in the coastal club since he took the post 16 days ago.
“We [president and board members] agreed to quit together but theyretired before me to embarrass me,” El-Komy told Ahram Online.
The Ismailiya-based club is facing a financial crisis due to lack of funding. The players haven't received their last season's bonuses and their star midfielder Hosny Adb-Rabou may terminate his contract with the club and the players joined his protest in the training with a support with the new technical staff under coach Hossam Hassan.
El-Komy promised to settle the club by providing new sources of funding before he finally admit that he “can't work on his own and heasked support from the National Sports Council and Ismailiya governor” as he said.
Three of the board members resigned early Tuesday, Othman Attia, Sherif Hamouda and vice-president, Medhat El-Werdani, as an objection for “Komy's unfulfilled promises to end the debts problem.”
“I was about to pay half of the players' bonuses today but I was shocked with the [board] members' retirements so I decided to leave too,” the businessman, El-Komy, told Ahram Online after he and the rest of the board resigned.
The official website of the club reported that Ismailia governor Gamal Embabi neglected any conversation with El-Komy asserting that he “didn't promise him anything regarding the club's crisis”, on the contrary of El-Komy's announcements.
“I wasn't welling to lead the club again and I've been through many complications since I took the post. The work atmosphere is not healthy at all.” El-Komy insisted.
