Directed by Salah El-Sakka, El-Leila El-Kebira puppet show will include the original puppets created by Egyptian artist Nagy Shaker

This year's Cairo International Book Fair will host a performance of El-Leila El-Kebira, the iconic puppet operetta with music by Sayed Mekkawy and poetry by Salah Jahin, performed by the Cairo Puppet Theatre and directed by Salah El-Sakka using the original puppets by Nagy Shaker.
Fetouh Ahmed, Head of The House Technical Theatre, said in a press release that “the house's troupes were keen on participating with their plays at the Book fair as part of their vision and plan to expand their outreach and perform more widely across the country in cultural and artistic events to reach more audience.”
El-Leila El-Kebira, taking place on Tuesday 9 February, is the last of a series of performances at the fair starting 31 January by different national theatrical troupes all operating under Theatre House. Other performed pieces included Ashiqeen Torabek (Adoring Your Soil) by the Modern Theatre Troupe, Regala we Setat (Men and Women) by Malak Theatre Troupe, Fatfoota and El-Laaba El-Shaeya (The Naughty Game) both by The National Theatre Troupe for Children.
