Shehata delays signing with Zamalek until they meet his demands

Egypt's former coach has announced that he will not sign his contract with Cairo giants Zamalek until they meet his demands.
“I have informed the club management of my demand to avoid facing the same difficulties that faced the Hassan twins,” the 64-year-old coach told reporters after a meeting with the club board on Monday night.
Despite their earlier announcement that they would renew the twins' contract, Zamalek decided recently to appoint Shehata as the first team head coach after surprisingly dismissing coach Hossam Hassan and his brother and football director Ibrahim after a trophy-less season.
“They did their best with the club, but they were unlucky and faced many difficulties that prevented them from clinching the league title, despite being at the summit for a long time,” added Shehata who was one of Zamalek's stars in the 1970s.
“I asked the club to ensure it pays the players' dues in the future and also that it signs seven new players, including a goalkeeper,” concluded Shehata, who stressed that there were no negotiations with the club before the departure of the Hassan twins.
Shehata also insisted that star winger Mahmoud Abdel-Razek 'Shikabala' will stay put amid a contractual dispute with Zamalek, who said they extended the player's deal for four years. "Shikabala himself wants to remain at Zamalek," the highly-successful tactician added.
