Zamalek president Galal Ibrahim resigns
Zamalek president Galal Ibrahim announce he will step down Wednesday after the club faces crippling financial problems

In a surprising move, Zamalek president Galal Ibrajim decided Tuesday night to step down his post following a meeting with the White Castle board.
"I will meet the National Sports Council head, Hassan Sakr, on Wednesday to finalise my resignation," Galal Ibrahim told Ahram Online, adding “I think this is for the best of Zamalek.”
The Whites are facing a series of financial crisis since the ousting of former president, Mamduh Abbass who provided a major source of the clubs funding.
The Cairo-based club lost their bid for their first Egyptian Premier League title since 2001 for arch-rivals Ahly after leading the table for weeks.
“I did my best to serve Zamalek and it's time for me to rest,” added Ibrahim.
The current board decided last month to sack coach Hossam Hassan, naming former Egypt coach Hassan Shehata who hasn't yet officially signed a contract.
Hassan Shehata demandstriggered conflicts in the club's board as member Abdullah George resigned Monday in the shadow of the club's adherence to the most successful Egyptian coach's demands.
The runner ups of the first Egyptian Premier League post-revolution announced earlier that they will land Egypt's skipper, Ahmed Hassan.
Former Ahly star, Hassan hasn't finalised his contract with Zamalek as they haven't reached an agreement with him yet.
Some of the players have complained they aren't receiving their payments, and midfielder Ashour El Adham demanded a release.
Galal Ibrahim announced he would step down early in June before he finally pulled out his resignation following a meeting with Hassan Sakr.
