Shehata refuses to sign Zamalek's contract again Former Pharaohs coach waiting for reassurances from management before he signs following sacking of his predecessor
Zamalek chairman, Galal Ibrahim, has announced that new manager, Hassan Shehata, did not attend a scheduled board meeting to sign his contract with the club. “Shehata didn't leave a reason for refusing to sign his contract with the club,” said Ibrahim. Al-Ahram reported that Shehata received his August salary, LE250,000, despite not having signed the contract. The former Pharaohs coach said earlier that he will not sign his contract with Cairo giants until management meets his demands, as he fears he may face the same fate as the Hassan brothers, Zamalek's former coach and football director, who were sacked following their failure to secure the league title last season. Under the helm of the 62-year old coach, Zamalek got their campaign off to a convincing start with an entertaining 4-1 win over Wadi Degla at Cairo stadium on Tuesday.
