Egyptian players once again managed to prove their supremacy in squash as they managed to occupy nearly half of the top 10 rankings in the world. The Hurghada Open title holder Ramy Ashour is ranked second in the world, behind Englishman Nick Matthew. Wadi Degla's player Karim Darwish is third while Ahly's former global top seed Amr Shabana is named fifth. The fourth Egyptian in the top-ten list is Somouha's Mohammed Shorbagy, in ninth place. Only El Ghezira's player Omneya Abd El Kawi made it through the top 10 rankings for the women, ending up occupying eighth.
