Ahly key player Solima injured, Ghaly back ahead of Champions League start Longtime absent Ahly skipper Ghaly returns to training ahead of CAF Champions league start next week, key player Walid Soliman is doubtful
Ahly key player Walid Soliman could be a major doubt for the CAF Champions League opener against giants A.P.R of Rwanda after sustaining a knock to his ankle during Monday's training session. The eight-time African champions are preparing for the Rwanda visit to face A.P.R on 14 March for the first leg of the competition's round of 32. "Soliman will undergo medical tests on Tuesday to determine the seriousness of his injury and his situation from the trip to Rwanda," Ahly doctor Khaled Mahmoud told reporters after Monday's training session. Soliman was one of Ahly's key players in previous games, scoring the Red Devils equaliser with arch rivals Zamalek last January as well as scoring twice during the 3-1 victory over Ittihad El-Shorta last month, helping Ahly to recover from some poor results in the Egyptian Premier League. Ghaly back to action Ahly skipper Hossam Ghaly returned to full training with the team on Monday in preparation for the CAF Champions League opener after recovering from a knee injury he sustained during his team's loss to Algeria's ES Setif in the African Super Cup. Ghaly will boost the Ahly squad when they take on A.P.R of Rwanda next week as the Cairo giants continue their bid for their 9th Champions League title.
