Morocco coach Eric Gerets is determined to win when the Atlas Lions take on Algeria on 4 June in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers 2012. “We will do our best to be prepared to clinch that precious win,” Gerets told Moroccan newspaper Almountakhab. Morocco lost to Algeria 1-0 in Annaba last March in the first-leg and the 56-year old Belgian tactician sees next month's clash as an opportunity for revenge. “I have a strong desire to avenge and also please all the Moroccans with an outstanding performance in the game,” he added. The Moroccan Football Association chose Marrakech to host the game for security reasons. The decision was not welcomed by Gerets as he wished to play it amid the numerous supporters in Casablanca. “We have no options but winning and leading our group to qualify for the finals especially as we will be playing at home between our supporters,” the coach explained. “Winning the three remaining clashes will be the most secure position for us,” he concluded. Morocco faces stiff competition in Group D, as they share the same points, four, with the other rivals Central African Republic, Tanzania and Algeria.
