Mido delighted over Ajax show of appreciation
Striker Mido expresses delight with the award he is expected to receive from his former club, Ajax, especially in light of criticism he's seen in Egypt after signing with Zamalek

Dutch football legend Johan Cruyff, the current president of Ajax, has informed the Pharaohs star on Tuesday that the club will honour him this month for his achievements with them.
“I am very happy as this honour came as a great relief for me as I am not officially registered until now in the Zamalek squad,” the 28-year-old told the club's media centre on Wednesday.
Mido joined Ajax last summer from English side Middlesbrough, but he had limited opportunities to play regularly under coach Martin Jol and successor Frank De Boer.
The nomadic striker, who played before with Tottenham, Roma and Marseille, has decided to return to Egypt to play the last years of his career with his boyhood club, Zamalek.
He hasn't seen action since his return, as he wasn't officially registered with the Whites because of an administrative fault on the part of both his club and the Egyptian football association (EFA) officials.
“The recognition of my role with Ajax is an appropriate reply for those who accused me of being unsuccessful with the club,” explained the player who was severely attacked after signing with Zamalek, having scored three goals only in six appearances for Ajax early this season.
Cruyff will personally hand the medal, that was given for only 19 players throughout the club's history,to experienced hitman, Mido.
“It is not only an achievement for my club, but also for my country Egypt,” concluded the player who led the Dutch giants before to win both the domestic league and cup titles in 2001/2002 season.
