Ivory Coast made up for an embarrassing 4-1 loss to Cameroon by defeating DR Congo 2-1 in the 3rd matchday of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers group stage on Saturday. Wilfried Bony gave the Elephants the lead midway through the first half but attacking midfielder Cedric Mongongu brought DR Congo level from the spot after 71 minutes. However, Wilfried Bony struck with seven minutes remaining to give Ivory Coast a precious win. Ivory Coast lie second in Group D with six points, one behind leaders Cameroon who failed to maintain their 100 percent start after being held to a 0-0 draw with the group's bottom side Sierra Leone. In Group A, South Africa beat Congo (six points) 2-0 to leapfrog their opponents to the group summit with seven points. South Africa scored twice in two minutes, with Bongani Ndulula opening the scoring in the 52nd minute before Tokelo Rantie made the game safe.
