Euromed Invest summit to be held in Alexandria The EU-funded programme supporting cooperation between Mediterranean countries will visit Egypt's second city in September
The annual Mediterranean business summit, Euromed Invest, will be held on the occasion of the Invest in Med annual conference on 21 and 22 September 2011 in Alexandria, according to a newsletter by uropean Neighbourhood and Partnership Instrument - ENPI. The April edition of BizBoard, Invest in Med's electronic newsletter, said that the summit, which is held in a different country every year, aims to foster economic development in the Mediterranean. Entrepreneurs, economists and political stakeholders from the region are expected to attend this year's gathering in Egypt. Invest in Med is a Euro-Mediterranean tetwork of organizations, funded by the EU with a budget of 9 million euros and committed to investment promotion and trade facilitation, strengthening small to medium business enterprise collaboration and the exchange of best-practices. It aims to increase the abilities and efficiency of Mediterranean Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs), thus enabling more foreign direct investment in Mediterranean partner countries.
