SOUTH SINAI, Egypt: The main Ras Gara petrol line, owned by Belayim Petroleum Company (PETROBEL), has been subjected to a crack which has led to the leakage of huge amounts of crude oil on the Tur-Sharm el-Sheikh road. South Sinai Governor Khaled Fouda immediately ordered forces to be on full alert to control the spilled oil and prevent its leakage in to the Suez Gulf water. Security forces firmly believe there is criminal intent behind the incident. It comes a week after Suez Oil Company's (SUCO) main petroleum line experienced a sudden crack which was also inflicted by masked men, who have not yet been captured. The governor decided to intensify security around the main lines, as well as putting early warning systems to detect the criminals.
