Abdel Moez Ibrahim, head of the Supreme Electoral Committee, said the committee ended all preparation and arrangements for the second phase of the People's Assembly elections. The second phase of elections will start Wednesday and Thursday in the governorates of Giza, Beni Suef, Sharqia, Ismailia, Minya, Suez, Aswan, Sohag, and Beheira. Ibrahim said he met with the judicial officials of primary courts in the nine courts overseeing elections. Ibrahim also reviewed with the primary courts' leaders efforts to secure polling stations and all legal precautions against any attempt to break the law. Ibrahim also confirmed that the committee took all precautions to facilitate judges' work. It also provided him with accommodation and transportation for judges. He added that the committee would increase the number of judges, officials and administrators during the second phase to complete the vote as fast as possible. He also said the committee would place women in polling stations to check the identities of Muslim women who wear veils or cover their faces.
