Tens participated in the sit-in outside the Council of Ministers, organizing a silent protest on Qasr el-Ainy street's sidewalks Friday. The silent protest called on the ruling Supreme Council of the Armed Forces to start investigations into those who killed and injured demonstrators during clashes on Mohamed Mahmoud Street. “The demonstrators call for retribution for the martyrs and for rapid investigations to reveal those involved in killing the innocent martyrs,” said Seif el-Din el-Shazly, coordinator of Second Revolution of Anger Movement. Clashes on Mohamed Mahmoud street began Nov. 19 after riot police violently dispersed a sit-in. Clashes escalated between demonstrators and security forces, causing many deaths and injuries. The demonstrators carried placards saying “Down with American democracy which kills people,” and “Sixty years under military rule…Sixty years in poverty and hunger.” The demonstrators put symbolic coffins on the sidewalk, where they demonstrated to prevent disrupting traffic.
