CAIRO: The priorities of the Ministry of Communications are to provide more job opportunities and to spread “technology houses” to remote areas, Egyptian Minister of Communications Mohamed Salem told Youm7. He said 25 technology houses in Upper Egypt are near completion. Salem added that the ministry would complete payment on technology companies' debts, which are valued at 10 million EGP (U.S. $1.7 million), in addition to discussing the debts with other ministries paying the companies' dues. He said the ministry would finalize new communications laws, seven of which are being prepared. The ministry would also complete studies for a national plan aiming to decrease Internet prices for all Egyptians.
