SOUTH SINAI, Egypt: South Sinai governor Khaled Fouda today held a meeting to discuss reinvigorating Italian tourism to Sharm el-Sheikh. Head of The Tourism Development Institute Tareq Saad, former Italian Ambassador to Egypt Anthony Badini and Chairman of the Sinai Company for Tourism Development all attended the meeting. Badini assured the Egyptian tourism officials that Sharm el-Sheikh is essential for Italians. He added that he had coordinated with the Italian Tourism Company, the Italian government and the Egyptian government to increase Italian tourists in Egypt. New tourism facilities, including swimming pools sports stadiums and football and tennis courts for European teams, are all slated for development in Sharm el-Sheikh. Sharm el-Sheikh, the Red Sea resort town, is characterized by warm weather year-round and safety and security. Governor Fouda said that he is ready to provide assistance and cooperation with investors to increase Sharm el-Sheikh's tourism appeal.
