KAFR EL-SHEIKH, Egypt: Libyan authorities in Misrata arrested the fishing boat "Abu Shady," which carried 16 fishermen from the village of Burg Maghzyal in Kafr El-Sheikh governorate. The boat left ten days ago for a fishing journey to Malta in Italy. The boat and its crew were arrested near the Libyan coast, and the boat was forced to enter Libyan waters. Ahmed Abdel Nassar, head of the Association of Fishing Welfare in Burg Maghzyal, received a call from the boat captain. He confirmed that Libyan authorities detained the fishermen and forced them to enter Libyan waters, and asked the Egyptian Foreign Ministry to release them.
