An Egyptian fishing boat was detained by Libyan rebels today. The boat, ‘Kased Karim,' sailed from the Egyptian port of Kafr el-Sheikh to Malta with 15 fishermen a week ago. Libyan rebels forced the boat to berth at Misrata port after forcing the fishermen to enter Libyan territorial waters, according to reports. The chairman of the fisherman welfare association in Kafr el-Sheikh, Ahmed Abdou, received a call from one of the detained fishermen who told him that the Libyan rebels detained the boat. The fisherman said the boat had not entered Libyan territorial waters.
