CAIRO: Some activists called upon Egypt's designated Prime Minister Kamal al-Ganzouri's government to support millions of Egyptians suffering from virus hepatitis C. Egyptians also suffer from the intransigence of medical insurance officials after refusing to give them the Interferon medicine, violating the Minister of Health's decision. The activists said they launched a popular campaign on Facebook entitled 'The popular campaign supporting virus hepatitis C patients,' after the state of patients got worse because of officials insistence on not giving them the medicine. Lawyer Shady Abdel Karim, the Right Center for Human Rights manager, said they are about to issue a number of lawsuits after witnessing how Egyptians suffer. They waited for an alignment from the revolution's governments towards the poor and not returning to the state before January 25, that raised the social justice rag upon all revolutionary demands. He added they will launch a campaign including many lawsuits, in addition to, prosecuting the government and the Ministry of Health. The previous Egyptian Minister of Health, Amr Helmy, issued a decision to include the Swiss and U.S. Interferon in the medical insurance. However, this decision wasn't activated, which angered many patients because they found the foreign Interferon isn't included despite of the response of the foreign companies, which reduced the price of the medicine from 1,400 to 250 EGP.
