The head of the Public Elections Committee in the Cairo's seventh electoral district suspended the work for two hours after a supporter of a candidate accused him of manipulating the votes. Mohamed Assem added that he had the full authority to suspend the committee's work, and threatened the representative who insulted him with arrest. He added that the committee delayed announcing the election results for the sake of accuracy. Despite attempts to contain the situation, the judge insisted on suspending the committee's work.
