CAIRO: Egypt's Supreme Electoral Council (SEC) granted the Egyptian Bloc the unified electoral symbol of the eye for all its participating political parties for the upcoming parliamentary elections being held on November 28. The Egyptian Bloc includes the al-Tagammu, Egyptian Social Democratic and Free Egyptians parties. The Egyptian Bloc received a phone call from SEC representatives informing them of the granted unified symbol. Member of the Egyptian Social Democratic Party and activist Farid Zahran said the phone call urged the Bloc's lawyer to get a written document confirming the decision. The decision came after a request made by the Bloc four days ago explained the reasons for a unified symbol, added Zahran. Zahran noted the reason behind the lawsuit filed on Saturday 12 against the Committee for getting the unified symbol was because of the delay in the Committee's reply.
