The head of the Judges' Club, Ahmed al-Zend, said that 25 Judges were detained at schools in Cairo by citizens wanting to vote after polls had closed. "The judges finished voting processes and left the polling stations to urge any citizens existing there to vote, but they did not find anyone. Therefore they closed the polling stations,” said Zend. “When they left they were shocked to find dozens of citizens who wanted to vote after the closure." Zend said that he called General Hamdi Badeen, the commander of the Military Police and told him that citizens assaulted judges assigned to supervise the elections. He also told him that the rumors saying that an officer was assaulted are unconfirmed. Military police headed to the districts where the judges were detained.
