CAIRO: The purchace price of the Egyptian pound has fallen to its lowest level in seven years, reaching 6.0036 EGP to $1 USD today, Tuesday Nov. 29. Some traders said the Central Bank of Egypt spent about $2 billion of its foreign reserves in October. The Egyptian pound recorded its highest price in January 2005, according to Reuters. The report by The Central Bank of Egypt, released yesterday, mentioned that the average exchange rate of the U.S. dollar to the Egyptian Pound rose. One U.S. dollar could be sold at 6.0345 EGP and could buy 5.9900 EGP. One Euro could purchase 8.0080 and could buy 8.0682 EGP. One British Pound could purchase 9.3288 EGP and 9.3994 EGP could buy a British Pound. The Swiss Franc could purchase 6.5080 EGP and 6.5600 EGP could buy a Franc. 100 Japanese yen could purchase 7.7081 EGP and 7.7665 EGP could buy 100 yen. The Chinese Yuan could buy 0.9380 EGP and 0.9453 EGP could buy a Yuan. A Saudi Arabian Riyal could buy 1.5971 EGP and 1.6092 EGP could buy a Riyal. The Kuwaiti Dinar could buy 21.6167 EGP and 21.7972 EGP could buy a Dinar. The UAE Dirham could buy 1.6306 EGP and 1.6431 EGP could buy a Dirham.
