CAIRO: Coptic Christian Bishop Moussa, known as the "Bishop of the Youth," issued a formal statement about allegations that the Coptic Christian Church is supporting the Egyptian bloc. Moussa said the Church is uninvolved in politics and is only involved in spreading civic consciousness amongst its congregation. He said that the Church is not supporting a specific party or coalition, but wants to increase social bonds between Muslims and Christians and is involved with activists working towards this. He added that the Church does not allow its pulpits to be used by any particular party or candidate. This is in accordance with orders from Pope Shenouda III who only asked that the Church encourage all to vote regardless of their religion.
