Egyptian political activist Ahmad Harara, who lost one eye during the January 28 clashes and then the other on November 19, was hosted by CNN to tell his story. Harara said, "I lost my right eye during the January 25 Revolution, on January 28 to be precise. I went to Tahrir Square on November 19 at 3 am and joined the front lines with protesters.” Harara also said, "A rubber bullet was shot at my left eye and I could not see anything around me. A protester took me on his motorbike to one of the field hospitals but they could not treat me and I was transferred to one of the hospitals." Harara said his eyes are not more precious than his country, adding that he did not have any political views prior to the January 25 Revolution. He said he is now a member in the People's Socialist Party which opposes the military council. Harara hopes Ahmed el-Shennawi, the officer aiming for protesters' eyes during recent clashes, gets the appropriate punishment. Harara said he was diagnosed with blood coagulation in his left eye and that he would need numerous surgeries. CNN reported that el-Shennawi became a wanted man among protesters due to him targeting eyes, and the prosecution summoned him for interrogation in to his crimes.
