CAIRO: Responding to a million-man demonstration against continued military rule staged Friday, the Lovers of Egypt Union and the Silent Majority Coalition called for another million-man demonstration in the eastern Cairo neighborhood of Abbasseya Monday. A statement issued by the two groups announced their solidarity with the Supreme Council of the Armed Forces until it hands over authority to an elected president. It said the Military Council and the Army protected the Revolution and a campaign aims to force the council to step down. The groups called for the council to remain in its position of authority until the return of security and stability to Egypt.
