CAIRO: Egyptian Independent Journalists Movement, and Coalition of Revolution Artists staged a march from Maspiro to Tahrir Square to protest the media coverage by Egyptian TV, which they described as "misleading and violence-inciting." Egyptian TV accused Tahrir protesters of being thugs and rioters, revealing how the Egyptian media practices the same approach as it did during the former regime. The movements called to purge the Egyptian media. The movements also called upon Egypt's ruling military council to step down and go back to its barracks at Egypt's border, to release all civilians facing military trials and to form a civil presidential council. They announced their solidarity with Tahrir protesters.
