JERUSALEM: The Israeli defense budget should not be cut because Israel will enter a war with Egypt in the future if the Muslim Brotherhood gains control of Egypt, according to former Defense Minister Benjamin Ben-Eliezer. He said war between Egypt and Israel is "inevitable." Eliezer's remarks came during the Knesset's meeting of the security and foreign affairs committee over the Israeli defense budget on Monday, according to Israeli newspaper Maariv. If the Muslim Brotherhood rules Egypt, it will represent a threat to Israeli national security and thus it is not ruled out that Israeli would go into fierce war on its south front with Egypt, the paper quoted him as saying. Egypt has begun to move toward anarchy because of the demonstrations that erupted in all Egyptian streets in Cairo and other governorates, he added.
