CAIRO: A video showing Egyptian security forces intentionally shooting rubber bullets at demonstrators' faces is circulating on social networking sites Twitter and Facebook.
The video takes place in Mohamed Mahmoud Street, which links Cairo's iconic Tahrir Square and the Egyptian Ministry of Interior. The street has witnessed the most intense fighting over the past three days.
In the video, a lieutenant shoots at demonstrators' face and eyes.
"It hit the guy's eye," says one soldier. Another replies, "Great shot, sir."
Facebook users took the lieutenant's photo from the video, calling for him to be investigated.
The activists on Facebook posted photos of Lt. Mohammad Sobhi el-Shenawi, who they say shot live ammunition in protesters' eyes over the past 48 hours.
El-Shenwai graduated from Police Faculty in 2009, and lives in el-Khalifa el-Maamoun neighborhood in Cairo.
The activists also posted a photo of el-Shenawi with his colleagues of the sniper squad of the Ministry of Interior. The activists commented on the photo, "Those who are taking out Egyptian's priceless eyes."
A Facebook page was created called, "Together to arrest Lieutenant Mahmoud Sobhi el-Shenawi."
