CAIRO: Hundreds of demonstrators tonight began a march to the Egyptian Ministry of the Interior while chanting against military rule. The marchers intended to siege upon the ministry and thus clashed violently with Central Security Forces guarding the ministry, many of whom were stationed there after withdrawing from Tahrir Square earlier in the night. Demonstrators set tires and wooden barriers ablaze to prevent the security forces from entering Tahrir and security officials continued to launch volleys of tear gas to prevent the protestors from entering the ministry. Demonstrators did allow ambulances to pass through the Square to transfer those with injuries to hospitals. The courtyard of the Ibab al-Rahman Mosque served as an ad hoc hospital for those injured during clashes with the CSF.
