CAIRO: The Egyptian Bloc which includes the al-Tagammu and Free Egyptians parties announced their electoral campaign initiation across different governorates after the Supreme Electoral Committee approved their use of the “eye” as their electoral symbol. The coordinator of the Egyptian Bloc's electoral campaign Mohamed Raouf Ghoneim revealed that there was fierce opposition to their candidates on the street and online. He revealed that Egyptian Bloc electoral banners in East Cairo were torn down and their candidates' social networking accounts hacked. Ghoneim confirmed the Egyptian Bloc will not use similar methods to hold their electoral campaigns and or use religious slogans. Ghoneim also said the general secretary of the Egyptian Bloc will hold a meeting on Wednesday to determine individual candidates the Bloc will support in the People's Assembly elections.
