The Egyptian Bloc will establish a network in different governorates and they will hold a meeting on Friday in Alexandria to discuss the mechanisms of the electoral coordination, said Mohamed Raouf, a member of the electoral committee. “The Egyptian Bloc demands that the ruling military council reformulate the electoral districts, conduct the parliamentary elections through the proportional representation system, activate the law banning the use of religious slogans in electoral campaigns and restore security in the country,” Raouf told Youm7. “There are a number of political parties that seek to join the Bloc, and any new membership will be discussed during the executive meeting this Sunday,” he added. Emad Gad, a member of the Egyptian Democratic and Social Party, ruled out joining the Islamic power coalition because of philosophical differences. He also criticized the al-Wafd Party for joining with the Muslim Brotherhood. He called the step a violation of the main principles of the al-Wafd Party.
